The brief
A larger detached property with a mix of original brickwork and a newer single-storey extension, needing a consistent, thermally efficient finish across every elevation, not just a like-for-like patch on the older sections.
Scope of works
- 01EPS external wall insulation system installed across the full exterior
- 02Full silicone render system applied over the insulation
- 03Coverage extended across both the original house and the newer extension for a single, consistent finish
01
Full elevation coverage
With a property this size, the insulation boards went up in stages across every elevation (front, rear, and the flat-roofed extension), all fixed and staggered the same way regardless of which part of the house they were on.
Keeping the build-up consistent across old brickwork and newer extension walls is what gives the finished property one uniform look, rather than a patchwork of different systems.

02
Detail work around fixings and reveals
Every board was mechanically fixed and staggered at the joints, with extra care taken around chimney breasts, corners and window reveals: the details that are easy to rush and the first places a system fails if they are.

03
The finished result
The silicone render system was finished across the whole property in one coordinated pass, giving a clean, consistent facade whether you're looking at the original house or the extension behind it.

04
A clean, uniform finish
Silicone render was used for its durability and self-cleaning properties: it sheds dirt in the rain far better than a standard acrylic finish, so the property keeps its finished look for years, not just for the first summer.

The result
“A large, mixed-age property now reads as one cohesive home, insulated to a consistent standard across every elevation, with a silicone render finish that will stay cleaner for longer.
